the notorious white sheet, the first page, the virgin sketchbook... the fear to destroy this purity has to yield to the desire of trial and error. in truth nothing -not even the most sophisticated design-techniques- will ever achieve the immediate and vital quality of a very first sketch, in which brain and hand work perfectly together.
