illustration = illumination
die höchste aufgabe des illustrators ist es, das geschriebene oder gesprochene wort so zu unterstützen, dass es gleichsam "erhellt" wird, ohne es zu überstrahlen. oft ist es ein schwieriger weg, einerseits nicht zu sehr in den vordergrund zu treten, andererseits neben den worten zu bestehen; gute illustration ist keine one-wo/man-show.
